First Novel=Done
Well, it only took 20 years, but I actually just finished the final revisions on my first novel and submitted it to a publisher. It’s kind of weird to have worked on something for so long and have it be finished and in someone else’s hands. Yet, on the other hand, it wasn’t weird at all. I just wrote my cover letter and sent it off like it was nothing. It was a relief.
Unlike many authors, I did not feel as if I were letting go of a child. I am not mourning the loss of it because I have a full plate of projects to jump into to take its place.
